When Loki mocked Thor with “are you ever not going to fall for that?”, it was an echo of when Loki and Thor were kids, and would play hide-and-seek in the forest or in the palace halls. Loki would conjure duplicates that would vanish whenever Thor pounced on them with a yell of triumph thinking ‘aha! maybe this time it’s really him!’. And Loki would laugh and laugh and yell “are you ever not going to fall for that?”, and Thor would stand up and look around shake his fist and swear he’d catch Loki next time, and they’d run off chasing each other again, laughing and joking and teasing. And he would still fall for it every. single. time.
